Valve Cover Racing – Rules

Basic Rules:  No engines – no propulsion. One valve, cam, or rocker cover per chassis.  No switching chassis or cover. Nothing may extend beyond the front or rear of the cover.  Maximum weight: 10 pounds. Maximum length: 32 inches. Maximum width: 12 inches.  Maximum height: 10 inches. Brackets set for two car heats. The car winning two of three races in each heat will be declared the winner and advance to the next round until a winner in each class is determined.

Youth Class –  Age 18 and younger: Unmodified stock or aftermarket valve, cam, or rocker cover with stock gasket surface. Non-metallic, mass produced, and readily available wheels (roller blade wheels rule here). Fixed steering. Car may not jettison any object onto the ramp on its descent.

Adult Class: Unmodified stock or aftermarket valve, cam, or rocker cover with stock gasket surface. Non-metallic, mass produced, and readily available wheels (roller blade wheels rule here). Fixed steering. Car may not jettison any object onto the ramp on its descent.

Concours Class: May run either stock or modified design but must run at least one elimination run. No length, width, weight, or height restrictions.  Must be based on one or more valve, cam, or rocker covers. This is a demonstration class only (no prizes).  Judge’s decision as to whether the track can support the cover!
